The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
How often do you think about your subconscious mind? Do you know what your subconscious is? Do you realise how powerful it is?
Let’s start with basics: You have two “minds”:The conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind includes your ego. It is the part of you that questions and analyses. The conscious mind bases its decisions on generalisations, opinions and experiences from this life. It includes things you have experienced, things you have heard or seen others experience and what you imagine you will experience.
Your subconscious (or unconscious or second mind) is what governs your breathing, your heart beat, your digestive system, your cell reproduction, your instincts, your emotions and much more.
It is the most powerful part of you.
You can do anything if you can convince your subconscious mind that it needs doing. Your subconscious has many prime directives. The most important are to: Store memories, house emotions, repress memories with unresolved emotion, present repressed memories for rationalisation, keep repressed emotion repressed for protection, run the body, preserve the body, be a highly moral being, respond with instinct and habit and not process negatives.
Now, imagine your mind as a nightclub. Outside the nightclub is the bouncer. Inside the nightclub is where the party is. Imagine the bouncer is your conscious mind. Imagine your subconscious as the party. In order to reach the party, we need to get past the bouncer. How?
We distract him…This is where hypnosis comes in handy. Hypnosis is the act of making the bouncer “fall asleep” in order for us to sneak past and enter the party.
When the conscious mind is distracted (or asleep), we can access our subconscious. We can tap into the world of potential that lies within each of us. We can access repressed memories. We can change habits. We can release phobias and much more.
Have you heard people claim that we use less than 10% of our brains? I believe that when we access our subconscious we are able to access the other 90%.
I recently did a 9-meter fire walk. If I tried it the day before,I would have had third degree burns all over my feet and legs. Instead, I reprogrammed my subconscious to believe that the fire would not burn and that it would indeed feel like cool moss under my feet. I took my first step with trepidation and was absolutely astounded to find that the burning coals felt cool and crisp under my foot. No heat, no burns- just cool moss.
Now, I know this sounds far fetched but I DID IT. Not somebody else- I DID IT and I have a certificate and a video to prove it. And now I know- if I can program my mind to allow me to walk over fire and come out unscathed, just imagine the other things I can do- and YOU CAN DO…
It is not a gift that only some people have. It is IN ALL OF US. We just need to be shown how to access it.
