Cure a Migraine: equal quantities of ground cloves, nutmeg and cardamon, mixed well and kept in an airtight container or jar. One teaspoon taken as required washed down with warm water.
Alleviate Indigestion: half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in a little bit of water. Stir and drink whilst fizzing. Belching will follow but that a good thing.
Cleanse your Liver: a 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in warm water every morning before you eat or drink anything else.
Shave Without Cutting Yourself or Getting a Rash: I use conditioner instead of shaving gels and foams. Leave it on for a minute or so before shaving. It works wonders on the underarms and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised. My husband even uses it to shave his beard and we're both constantly amazed by the difference it makes.
Clean your Mirrors: dilute half a cup of white wine vinegar in a litre of water and use as mirror cleaner. Much better than all the toxic stuff!
Stop a Bleeding Injury: put a drop of Lavender essential oil on the injury.
Prevent Excessive Bruising: place some toothpaste (natural, of course) on the bruise as soon as you can. It draws the bruising out and will prevent huge bruises from appearing.
Treat a Burn: Aloe Vera. I always have an Aloe Vera plant growing somewhere. If you don't, make sure you have some Aloe Vera gel close to the stove and place on the burn.
Decrease Scarring: rub some vitamin E oil on the scar before going to bed at night.
Reduce Muscle Stiffness: bath in Epsom Salts. I use two cups per bath. It draws out the toxins in the body and will remove the build up of lactic acid in the muscles that cause stiffness.
Boost the Immune System: Echinacea. Regularly adding a few drops in your water or smoothies does wonders. Do not take daily- your body will get used to it and it will lose its efficiency. I use it 2-3 times a week. At the first sign of a cold, I "overdose" (15-20 drops 3 times per day) and by morning all signs of dis- ease are gone.
